① Player Suitability

Much like the driver, the BERES 09 fairway woods are designed for beginner to intermediate golfers, especially those with slower to moderate swing speeds. They are ideal for senior golfers and players who need help getting the ball airborne from the fairway and want to combat a slice.

These clubs are built for maximum forgiveness and a high, draw-biased ball flight. The shallow clubface and low center of gravity make it easier to launch the ball high, even from tight lies.

② Key Technologies

The BERES 09 fairway woods incorporate specific technologies to boost performance and are uniquely weighted to provide different benefits.

  • Club-Specific Center of Gravity (CG) Design: This is a key feature.
    • 3-Wood: The internal weighting is optimized specifically for distance. The CG is placed to promote a powerful, high launch and long carry to cover maximum ground.
    • 5-Wood: The internal weighting is optimized for directionality and control. It has a more pronounced draw-bias to help golfers hit fairways more consistently on their approach shots.
  • Tungsten Nickel Weight: A 14g weight is positioned in the back of the heel. This pulls the CG low and deep, increasing launch and stability, while also enhancing the draw bias to help correct a slice.
  • Shallow Head Design: The large, shallow head profile inspires confidence at address and helps players get the ball in the air easily from the tee or the fairway.
  • Uneven Thickness Face and Crown: Honma thinned the face and crown with a strategic thickness pattern. This expands the "sweet spot" (repulsion area), ensuring maximum ball speed and forgiveness, even when contact is not perfect.
  • New ARMRQ FX Shafts: The soul of the BERES clubs. The hand-rolled ARMRQ shafts are designed in-house to be lightweight and to store and release energy efficiently. The performance, stability, and materials improve as you go up in the "Star" rating (2-Star to 5-Star), which allows for a perfect match to a player's swing and feel preference.
